Sam Montoya is proud to serve as the Director of the Ziccardi Strings Youth Orchestra at Mt. Carmel. Sam moved to Trinidad in July of 2022 and has been very active in the local music scene. Drawing from her diverse orchestral experiences including the CU Boulder Symphony Orchestra, Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra, and Alexandra Arts Association Pit Orchestra, Sam brings a wealth of experience and approachability to her leadership role with Mt. Carmel.

In addition to her classical experience, Sam is also the violinist of the highly acclaimed Indie Americana Rock Band, Coal Town Reunion, based out of Denver Colorado. Since 2017, Sam has been invited to perform at the Annual Last Waltz Revisited alongside many of Colorado's top musicians at the Boulder Theater and the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. Locally, Sam and her husband Jeff Montoya perform regularly as the folk duo, Rosin & Rust.
